The thriving plumbing franchise saw an uptick in same-store sales in 2019 and plans to aggressively expand across the nation within the next four years
bluefrog Plumbing + Drain, the fast-growing plumbing franchise, designed its business model to help its franchisees maximize profitability. This reached a new level in 2019 as all four quarters saw an average of 62 percent same-store sales growth.
Thomas Doughtery, president of bluefrog + Plumbing Drain, attributes the uptick to the brand’s robust training and support and proven business model.
“Our systems and processes are working,” he says. “This proves that if our franchise owners implement them they will be profitable. At bluefrog + Plumbing Drain, we are passionate about helping our franchise owners thrive in business. This is why we provide comprehensive training, including everything from business to software and hiring training. Most importantly, we provide our franchise owners with our stages-of-growth manual, which helps them understand the challenges they may face at each level of growth beginning from initial startup and how to overcome them in order to reach the next tier of growth development.”
With 2020 underway, bluefrog + Plumbing Drain aims to capitalize on the banner year it had by adding more locations.
Additionally, Lance Ray, a bluefrog Plumbing + Drain franchisee in Colorado Springs, Colorado, became the first franchise owner to open both a bluefrog Plumbing + Drain and Restoration 1, setting the stage for future franchisees who plan to operate both brands in their community.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the plumbing industry will see an average of 14 percent job growth over the next 10 years. That’s a much faster growth rate compared to most industries at only five percent. Additionally, entrepreneurs can capitalize on the plumbing shortage further, as 75 percent of the current tradespeople are expected to retire in the next 10 years, notes the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
